Art & Architecture History
The Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University invites applications for three faculty positions in art and architecture history:
- Tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor with a specialty in Renaissance and Baroque architectural history and theory.
- Tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor in art history, with a specialty in the modern period.
- Tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor with a specialty in ancient and classical art and architecture.
Ability to address topics in Asian, American, Pre-Columbian, Arabic, African, or Indian art and architecture will merit special attention. Ability to contribute to studio courses will also be considered favorably.
Candidates must demonstrate an ability to teach a variety of courses including large introductory surveys, advanced undergraduate classes, graduate seminars, and graduate research supervision. Ph.D. is required for tenure-track or tenured appointments. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience.
Located in central Texas just 90 miles northwest of Houston, Texas A&M University is a premier research university with strong emphases in teaching, research and public service. The Department of Architecture, located in the College of Architecture, consists of over 60 faculty members with nearly 900 students enrolled in degree programs from undergraduate to Ph.D. level, and each year serves over 4000 students in the university at large.
