Brown Bag Lecture: American Quiltmaking
February 18, 2009, 1-2:00pm, Forsyth Center Galleries;
The history of American quiltmaking reflects the evolution of an artwork that is varied and fascinating. Quilts come as "while cloth", "linsey-woolsey"m "patchwork" and "crazy", to name a few. And patterns of quilts range from the descriptive, such as "basket and flowers" to the unusual, such as "drunkard's path". Join Forsyth Center Galleries' Director, Nan Curtis, as we take a look at American quilts from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Forsyth Center Galleries are located in the Memorial Student Center on the Texas A&M University campus. Gallery hours are Mon.-Fri. 9am-8pm; Sat. & Sun. 12-6pm. Admission is free. For more information about this exhibition and others at the Forsyth Center Galleries, call (979) 845-9251 or visit http://forsyth.tamu.edu.
