THE ACADEMY FOR THE VISUAL &
PERFORMING ARTS

Created in January 2002, The Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts was charged with the responsibility to enhance support for visual and performing arts within Texas A&M University, and to coordinate the University's support of the arts with the surrounding community.

In supporting a number of initiatives, the Academy strives to enhance the educational experiences of students, who are preparing to pursue careers in the arts, and expose the general student population to the richness of the creative act.

In accordance with the University's Vision 2020, the Academy hopes to further the development of art programs as the nucleus for an arts community that will enrich the life of the university and the larger community.
