Study Patterns

Interior Architecture

The interior architecture pattern focuses on the creation of environments within structures to serve the physical and psychological requirements of the users. Special emphasis is placed on programming, spatial organization, component and material specification, and integration of environmental control systems as they influence space planning and design for commercial, institutional, and industrial functions in both new and rehabilitated space. Students interested in issues related to adaptive use in building design or health care systems should consider developing a course of study combining interiors with these patterns of study.

Courses include:

ARCH 634 - Architectural Lighting
ARCH 635 - Architectural Acoustics
ARCH 661 - Interior Component Selection and Design
ARCH 663 - Interior Architecture I
ARCH 665 - Interior Architecture II
ARCH 676 - Survey of Human Behavior and Design
FINC 639 - Real Estate Development Analysis
MGMT 363 - Organizational Behavior
MGMT 424 - Organizational Theory
