Notes:

1. Any course in American or Texas history will satisfy the history requirement. State law permits the substitution of 3 hours of history and 3hours of political science for a student in the program on an approved senior EROTC unit. The total number of military credit hours that may be applied toward this degree is 12.

2. PHYS 202, METR 326 or GEOG 203/213 or GEOL 101.

3. All electives must be selected in consultation with the student's advisor or from the current list of approved electives published by the department; Math, Physical science, speech/writing and social science electives must meet University Core Curriculum requirements. Students may choose either MATH 141/142; MATH 131/166, or MATH 151/152; the latter are 4 credit hour courses recommended for M.S. VIZA.

4. Normally, not more than 3 hours of ENDS 481; 8 hours of ENDS 485 (including ENDS 485H, participation by invitation in the University Undergraduate Fellows Program); 7 hours of ENDS 489 (except courses which have subsequently been approved as permanent courses); may be applied toward this degree.

5. Environmental Design students not intending to pursue the M.Arch. degree and therefore not intending to obtain professional architectural registration may substitute directed track electives for these 31 credit hours. Each student must file a statement of intentions and an approved pattern of elective choices at the end of the fifth semester of study. Students intending to apply to the M.Arch. program at Texas A&M University will be expected to have completed the degree plan as published.

6. Students may substitute one 3-hour general elective in lieu of three 1-hour ENDS/CARC 481 seminars.
