Dr. Ory is concerned with the initiation and maintenance of health behaviors and chronic disease management in home, community and health care environments, especially in older populations. She specializes in translational research, examining the process and outcomes of bringing evidenced-based research into practice, with special attention to the role of environmental factors.

Joined Texas A&M University System Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health faculty in 2001.
