Evidence-Based Neonatal Intensive Care Units

There has been an increasing awareness of the impact of design decisions on the sensory environment of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In the continuing evolution of NICU design, there is a need to evolve the entire spectrum of care for neonates not only as a tangential design consideration but as an intervention based in science.
