Vision

CHUD's vision is to enhance

  • the quality of life (People) and
  • the quality of the built environment (Place),

by enabling two new paradigms:

    1. A paradigm of integration (See Figure 1a), among Practice, Outreach, Service, Education, and Research initiatives, programs, projects, events, and activities; and
    2. A paradigm of knowledge creation and delivery of solutions (See Figure 1b), within a continuum of Research, Development, Demonstration, Deployment, and Dissemination activities.

Enabling these paradigms will move three specific knowledge domains from their current baseline of what is, to a vision of what they can be:

    1. the colonias,
    2. housing, and
    3. urban development. (See Figure 2)
