Vision (continued)
These two new paradigms target four main thrust areas.
First, enhancing the conventional academic paradigm, by (See Figure 3):

- Teaching what is being practiced, and taking to practice what
is being taught,
- Researching what is being practiced, and taking to practice what is being
researched,
- Teaching what is being researched, while researching what is being taught
and how, and
- Transcending traditional formal disciplinary and interdisciplinary education
at the Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral levels, through
- Service learning programs for CARC, TAMU, U.S., and international students;
- Continuing education programs for AEC and other professionals, government
officials, and the community at large; and
- Reaching out to the K-12 education, and the vocational and community college
education
