Symposium Mission
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Rita, disaster recovery and redevelopment has been brought to the forefront of research topics. The first annual Interdisciplinary Student Research Symposium's theme is Disaster Recovery and Redevelopment. Seven thematic areas will be the building blocks of the symposium sessions, and will form the sections of the first peer-reviewed on-line journal managed by the students, which will publish the most exemplary papers that result from the symposium presentations. This symposium is developed by graduate students in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at Texas A&M University and is organized by a volunteer graduate student committee.
