Proposal Instructions
Proposals are invited for the 2009 William Wayne Caudill Student Research Fellowship in
Architecture for applicants to the Ph.D. Program in Architecture. In 2009 the Selection
Committee anticipates awarding one fellowship. The successful applicant will receive a
three-year award that will consist of the following:
- YEAR 1: An award of $12,000 for the 1st academic
year (Fall 2009 and Spring 2010). This award will allow out-of-state
students to be eligible for in-state graduate tuition.
- YEAR 2: An award of $12,000 for the 2nd academic
year (Fall 2010 and Spring 2011). This award will be subject to a
performance review that will take place during the 1st academic year. This
award will also allow out-of-state students to be eligible for in-state graduate
tuition.
- YEAR 3: An offer of a full-time graduate assistantship
during the 3rd academic year (Fall 2011 and Spring 2012, 20 hours per week).
This award will be subject to a performance review that will take place during
the 2nd academic year. This award will also allow out-of-state students to
be eligible for in-state graduate tuition.
The Selection Committee for this year’s award is: Dr. Valerian Miranda (Chair), Dr. Glen Mills,
Mr. Tom McKittrick, FAIA, Dr. Phill Tabb, Dr. Bob Johnson, Dr. Ann Nichols, Dr. Susan Rodiek,
and Ms. Susie Billings (ex-officio member).
To be considered for these awards, the
completed Ph.D. Program application
must be submitted to the University
(Office of Admissions and Records) by
16 January 2009. A copy of the Ph.D.
