Profile

Dr. Van Zandt’s areas of interest include sustainable community development and housing. Her research examines ways to improve neighborhood stability and produce positive outcomes for households, particularly those that are lower-income. Her pedagogical interests include professional communications and participatory planning processes.

Dr. Van Zandt's recent publication including “Home Ownership and Access to Opportunity: A Review of the Research Evidence.” Housing Studies, 2002 and“The Social Costs and Benefit of Homeownership.” In Low Income Homeownership: Examining the Unexamined Goal.
