CRS was one of the most innovative architectural-engineering firms of its time. It was known for its innovative approach to design and construction -- architectural programming, architecture by team and the troika concept, squatters, and construction management/fast-track. Perhaps more importantly, CRS was known for its culture of innovation and its relentless focus on process as well as product.

The goal of the conference was to explore the impact that CRS innovations and culture have had on the design and construction industry. We invited speakers who began their careers at CRS and went on to become respected, national figures in the design and construction industry. Issues explored include: To what extent was their career shaped by the CRS culture? What did they learn while at CRS that is still relevant today? What may not be relevant today? Are there enduring lessons that can benefit the entire design and construction industry?
