REQUIREMENTS
Design a pavilion that may serve as a light, ornamental roofed structure at the Wolf Pen Creek Park in College Station, Texas.
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SURROUNDINGS
Discover the impact of the site on the design object: the landscape, including the terrain, and the neighborhood.

FORMAL EXPRESSION

  • Define an aesthetic goal for the pavilion.
  • Discover the aesthetics of the dynamic and the static feelings, and represent them through the formal configuration of the structure.
  • Demonstration on the use and application of organizing principles
  • Creation of a pleasing visual form

MATERIALIZATION

  • Discover the dual interaction between "the form of the structure" and "the structure of the form": creation of a structural form.
  • Material attributes of the pavilion (textures, colors, joints, etc).
  • Structural system of the pavilion, defined by a hierarchical configuration of members (main supporting elements, and supported elements)

REPRESENTATION ISSUES (35 %) CONTENT (site plan, parti diagrams, hand sketches, pictures of study and final models, spatial working model, final model)
QUALITY (drawings / pictures/ diagrams / models):layout, use of materials, and lettering
NARRATIVE (The narrative should make reference to the impact of the context, your aesthetic goal, how to represent dynamic and static feelings through your structure, the materials used, and the importance of the design method chosen)

PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT (5%)
  • Presentation of the idea (reference to the expression of the pavilion)·
